The Sage skipper can be easily differentiated from similar species. The most common habitats for this species are rocky slopes and limestone meadows. The host plants are from the genus Phlomis. Sporadically it can be found in North Africa, through the Iberian peninsula, southern parts of Europe, to southeastern Russia and Iran. The nearest recorded locations are in neighboring Macedonia, while there are no reliable findings for Serbia.
